About Me
Background and Experience
I am a BACP accredited counsellor, specialising in women’s mental health and working from a broadly psychodynamic perspective. I draw on creative and reflective methods — including image, colour, story, object-based techniques and mindfulness-based approaches where helpful.
As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I abide by their code of ethics. I receive regular supervision and undertake continuing professional development.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked in various public and charity sector support roles. I began in the field of criminal justice, helping victims and witnesses of crime through the court process, before specialising in women’s wellbeing and safety. I have worked for Women’s Aid, responding to calls on the National Domestic Violence Helpline, and was involved in the charity Self Injury Support (formerly Bristol Crisis Service for Women), on both their helpline and text and email service.
I was a counsellor at Womankind - Bristol Women’s Therapy Centre for a number of years and have delivered time limited counselling for the NHS. I have been running my private practice since 2018 and I have worked with a diversity of women and a broad range of issues during this time.
